Processing Tomato Advisory Board - Davis, CA

 

PTAB is offering a “hybrid” position marrying administrative and field work.  This is an exciting position to build and keep your skills both in the field and in the administrative office.  This is a seasonal position that is full-time, six to seven months out of the year (typically May-November).  Field work will be primarily in the Northern California district, however, if there is a critical need may extend to other districts.  There may be an opportunity during the off-season for additional hours.

 

Job Duties

The position provides support to the Processing Tomato Advisory Board administration and field staff. The administration office is comprised of HR, Safety and Training, Payroll, Accounting and Database Reporting. Examples of administrative duties are below, but not limited to:

·         Enter employee information in the Dynamics payroll system

·         Work with district personnel tracking hours toward step-raises

·         Create I.D. badges

·         Maintain personnel files

·         Audit payroll for errors

·         Daily mail runs

·         Deposits to the bank

·         Special projects

·         Other duties as required

Field work will be comprised of, but not limited to:

·         Responding and assisting with the resolution of equipment issues

·         Filling in for shifts when needed

·         Working under the direction of the District Manager, performing duties as requested

 

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to this position requires fundamental written and oral communication skills, including a sound foundation in English grammar, spelling, and punctuation; an ability to understand standard office procedures, operate office equipment, learn office technology systems, perform basic mathematical calculations, typing and computer skills.

Qualifications

Experience:

1. Experience providing a high level of customer service.

2.  Experience in a lead or supervisory capacity in field work, such as inspecting tomatoes.

Skills/Abilities/Commitment:

1. Ability to communicate effectively both in person and over the telephone.

2. Good organizational and record keeping skills.

3. Ability to perform clerical tasks of a routine nature.

4. Ability to work in a team and collaborative environment.

5. Ability to use standard software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

6. Willingness to work some overtime, weekends and after hours, availability seven days a week.

7. Willingness to travel.

8.  Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or similar accounting software.

2. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in experience.  Equivalent experience can be working in a similar capacity for two or more seasons.

Candidate may be required to provide official transcripts of their highest degree earned and must furnish proof of eligibility to work in the U.S.  Candidates will also need to pass a drug test and have a health questionnaire approved.

Job Type:
