District Supervisor – Manteca District

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The District Supervisor (Manteca District) organizes and coordinates a district inspection program and reports directly to the Area Manager. Job responsibilities will be both operational and collaborative, providing technical expertise in the inspection of processing tomatoes and hiring, training, supervising, evaluating and managing the inspection crew for the Manteca District. Responsibilities include but not limited to establishing and maintaining cooperative relations with industry, promoting safety awareness, reviewing and approving employment appointments and payrolls, handling public relations, ensuring grade uniformity and integrity and preparing detailed reports for PTAB management. The ideal candidate will reside within an hour drive of the Ripon office.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

Seeking an individual with PTAB experience. The position requires the following skills and experiences:

·         Must have worked the last five seasons at a PTAB Senior Inspector, Assistant District Supervisor level or higher.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Proven ability to train, discipline and motivate employees.

·         Ability to work harmoniously with others.

·         Proficiency with general computer skills (Email, Internet Browsers, Excel, Word) and knowledgeable with various grading station software systems.

·         Extensive knowledge of tomato inspection procedures and defect definitions.

·         Willingness to work long hours during the tomato season.

·         Attend meetings as required.

·         Maintain consistent and open communication with Area Manager, especially as it relates to personnel issues and industry concerns.
